Talking about your history

Your history is a powerful topic for many reasons...

In marketing - you don't often think about history as a tool to sell your business. You want to spend most of your time talking about what's happening right now, or what might be happening in the near future.

But history is powerful when you want to connect customers to your brand and to the things that differentiate you from your competition, and if your product is something hand made or craft made, or an institution or event with a long history, it's even more important.

Customers crave a deeper connection with the products they purchase, no matter what form they take. The quote "At the end of the day, people may forget what you said, they may forget what you did, but they will always remember the way you made them feel" comes to mind.

Talking about your history can be a very powerful way to connect on an emotional level. And it's not just about your customers. Your staff will be inspired by these stories too, building better cohesion and motivation to succeed.

Here's a short documentary we made for Tropfest, talking about their amazing 25 year history.
