At Loom Creative, we believe in the power of video to tell stories that inspire, inform, and connect. Our recent project with Everyday Independence was a perfect example of how a single video can serve multiple purposes and deliver exceptional results.
The Brief
Everyday Independence initially approached us to create a video designed to help prospective employees understand the day-to-day responsibilities of their roles. With a workforce of over 900 professionals across Australia, they wanted to showcase the rewarding and impactful nature of working with an industry leader.
A Dual-Purpose Video
What started as a recruitment-focused project quickly evolved into something much bigger. The client loved how the video captured not just the practical aspects of the job but also the core values of the organisation and the passion of their employees. They recognised its potential as a powerful marketing tool to communicate their mission and impact to a wider audience.
This shift in purpose highlights the incredible versatility of video as a storytelling medium. It’s not just about explaining—it’s about engaging and inspiring, whether the audience is potential employees, clients, or partners.
Our Process
We worked closely with Everyday Independence’s team, including their staff in the local office, to develop a concept that felt authentic and compelling. From brainstorming ideas to executing the production, the collaboration was seamless and full of shared creativity.
The shoot itself took just one day, during which we captured a range of interviews, real-life interactions, and behind-the-scenes footage. By working with the actual team members and locations, we ensured the video felt genuine and relatable.
To meet the client’s needs, we delivered two versions of the video:
• A shorter, 5-minute version: Perfect for quick introductions or recruitment presentations.
• A longer, 8-minute version: Providing a more in-depth exploration of the roles and values for those seeking deeper insights. In particular, this would serve as a strong educational tool for new employees so they felt comfortable with the role on day one.
The Outcome
The final videos resonated deeply with Everyday Independence’s team and audience. It's it's first week on YouTube it garnered hundreds of views. Beyond showcasing the day-to-day work of their employees, the videos now serve as a testament to the organisation’s culture and impact. By using the videos as a marketing tool, Everyday Independence is reaching a broader audience and further amplifying their mission.
Why It Worked
This project demonstrated the value of video as a storytelling tool:
• Authenticity: Real employees and real stories made the content relatable and credible.
• Dual-purpose content: A recruitment video that doubled as a marketing asset, delivering exceptional ROI.
• Collaboration: By partnering closely with the client, we created something that truly reflected their vision and values.
